GIDIJOBS LENDS A HAND TO JOB CREATION
The duo of Poise Graduate finishing academy and Gidi Jobs has
set up a fair to empower youths by training graduates on employability skills
and eventually connecting them with employers.
This was revealed at a job fair termed Gidi Job Summit and Young
Executive Job Fair 2017, which held at 277, Babs Fafunwa in Surulere on the 7th
of December 2017. The event Featured activities such as Career Planning sections,
Job Interview sessions, Networking, Career Coaching session and a Job Fair.
The 2017 Gidi Job fair which was hosted by the CEO Gidi Jobs
fair, Asher Adeniyi and Poise MD, Ukinebo Dare had several recruitment firms in
attendance which were able to immediately recruit candidates to fill in
positions.
According to them, the candidates had earlier passed through
the Poise academy and had been trained on Business Writing, Problem Solving
Skills, Workplace Ethics, Customer Service Skills and basic ICT training among
others.
The partnership fair is the first of its kind created by the
Poise Graduate Finishing Academy and Gidi Jobs.
The organizers reportedly said that the platform has been involved in
over 1800 recruitments since inception with 80% employment rate.
The organizers however said that challenges encountered
included the tendency of job seekers to apply for roles higher than their
performance, getting youths interested in personal development as well as
getting employers to invest in quality candidates through support initiatives.
Prominent among attendees
of the event were the Vice Chancellor of Covenant University: Prof AA. Atayero,
CEO ARM, Permanent secretary, Ministry of Wealth Creation: Dr. Bashorun, and SOS children village
who are staunch supporters of the initiative through candidate trainings.
