WE THE PEOPLE

In a period of grim political transactions, eroding morality and less value for culture, satire is the most appropriate method of re-presenting national discourse on salient issues in an unconventional manner. The collection of poems in the book “We the People” perfectly reflects these.
The Author of the Poetry Collection, Ololade Ajayi, describes “We the People” as a form of protest writing in order to address the ills in her country: Nigeria and the world at large.
The book has been released on Saturday 4th November 2017, in Lagos state Nigeria.
We the people consist of five parts namely:
·        Infamous laments: Satiric Poems for country
·        Lagos, the Rumi
·        Orisun, the source : poems in Ekiti dialect
·         Dialectical love poems, and
·        Faculty of Mentaphors: the authors’ version of metaphorical poems.
All in all the book is a thrill that promises to stimulate the brain when read.

Peter obi, who was the guest speaker alongside Dr. Kayode Fayemi at the event, spoke on changes in the global oil price and impact on Nigeria Economy. He said that statistical evidence proof that Nigeria operates an Oil dependent economy which would definitely run into problems once the sector experience global pricing issues.   #EndSARS: Forging Ahead with Bloody Inks A protester (Ololade Ajayi) during the End SARS protest END SARS The   #EndSARS Movement allegedly kick started in Ughelli, Delta state on Tuesday 6 th of October   2020 after a viral video showed SARS Operatives pushing off a man from his vehicle. Then on Thursday 8 th of October 2020, protests kicked off in Lagos at Alausa and other parts of the city. And then the Federal Capital Territory subsequently joined in.
